Cheapest Alabama Homeowners Insurance
Our mission is to help you find the cheapest Alabama homeowners insurance! You need a company who can shop through multiple carriers to find you the lowest homeowner’s insurance price in Mobile and Baldwin County. We are that company.
Primary Home Insurance
Primary homes are what we do best. The logic is that no one takes better care of a home than the homeowner. Therefore, most insurance companies are not only willing to insure these homes, but they are willing to write them at lower rates compared to other companies. Primary homes get the cheapest Alabama homeowners insurance.
Secondary & Seasonal Home Insurance
Any home that you live in less than 50% of the time and do not rent to others can be insured as a secondary or seasonal home. Depending on the location and age of the home, prices are still fairly competitive.
Landlord Insurance
Long term rentals are cheaper to insure than short term rentals. It’s also cheaper to insure the home if occupied by adults vs. students. We can’t say how many times a careless tenant damaged a home while living inside. This is also a good reason to have liability insurance. If a tenant or one of their friends got hurt on your property, they might seek a lawyer who suggests they should sue the landlord.
Vacant House Insurance
Vacant homes are the riskiest to insure. If the home has a leaky pipe or a fire, no one would be home to prevent it. Vacant house insurance excludes liability and medical coverage. It also excludes theft. There aren’t many options when it comes to vacant house insurance. You can choose to pay for 3 months of coverage with no refund if canceled, or 1 year of coverage at an expensive price with a refund if canceled. Most insurance companies are unwilling to write vacant house insurance.
Wind Only Insurance
There are a select few insurance providers who sell wind only insurance. Those providers are AIUA, Lloyds, and GeoVera. If you have fire insurance and need wind only insurance, this is a good place to start.
Duplex Insurance
We can write duplex insurance too! It’s also notable that most insurance providers don’t want to insure duplexes. It’s twice as risky. Some insurers demand that there be a firewall between each unit. A firewall is a thick wall that fire can’t pass through. This way if one side burns, it doesn’t spread to the other side easily. It’s easier to insure a duplex if the owner owns both sides. It’s a little more difficult to insure when the owner only owns one side.
Condo Insurance
Of course, we can insure your condominium as well. Just be aware of the rules of writing condo insurance. If you own a ground floor unit, you’ll be required to have flood insurance. Frame condos are expensive to insure, masonry condos are moderate, and superior AAA condos are the cheapest to insure.
Townhouse Insurance
Like duplexes, townhouses are also difficult to insure. What we mean by that is not many insurers are willing to insure them. On one hand, they may appear to be like a condo. The difference is that there is no condo master policy.
